About

James

I help leaders and teams find clarity when leadership feels heavy.

For more than 25 years, I have worked with people navigating leadership, growth, pressure and change as a teacher, senior leader, executive coach and former church Pastor.

But the heart of my work is simple:

I create a calm, structured space where leaders can name what is really going on and take a wiser next step and thrive.

Why this work matters to me

I know how easy it is for leaders to keep carrying things because people need them to be strong.

The pressure may show up as tiredness, over-responsibility, strained communication, difficult team dynamics or the quiet loss of joy.

Often, the leader does not need more noise.

  • They need space.

  • They need language.

  • They need a trusted guide.

  • They need a way to see what is happening beneath the surface.

That is the work of The Clarity Orchard.

The experience behind the work

My background has given me a deep sensitivity to what happens when people, teams, and cultures do not quite understand one another.

I was born in Nigeria and spent my early years growing up between cultures. When my family returned to the UK, life involved change, movement, and learning how to read new rooms quickly. As a Third Culture Kid, I know what it feels like to adapt, observe, listen carefully, and notice what is being said ….. and what is not being said.

That experience still shapes how I work.

I often find myself paying attention to the space between people: the assumptions, unspoken pressures, different communication styles, and quiet misunderstandings that can build up inside teams.

Alongside this, my professional background includes education, church leadership, charity work, and executive coaching. I have worked as a PE teacher, senior leader, founding church leader, charity founder, and coach. I am an ILM Level 7 Executive Coach and Mentor, a certified GiANT Guide, and a 5 Voices practitioner.

But the real thread running through my work is not just qualification or experience.

It is a desire to help leaders and teams slow down enough to see what is really happening, find language for it, and take a wiser next step.

The Clarity Orchard exists for leaders who are carrying responsibility, navigating pressure, and trying to build healthier communication, stronger trust and clearer leadership.
